What is AS9120B:2016?
AS9120 B is an international standard, prepared by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG). Representatives from across the globe came together from aviation, space and defense companies to create the AS9120:2016 B quality management system requirements. This standard was designed for all levels of the supply chain by organizations globally to improve quality, cost and delivery performance.
Who is AS9120B designed for?
AS9120 was designed for organizations that procure parts, materials and assemblies and sells these products to customers in the aerospace industry. The standard is not intended for businesses that maintain or repair products.
AS9120B:2016 is based off of ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, and includes additional requirements for aviation, space and defense industry.
New High Level Structure
The difference between AS9120A and AS9120B is the structure, which is based off the new Annex L structure introduced in ISO 9001:2015. For certification, industries have to apply by completing the Aerospace Quote Request Form, Assessment, and Certification.
