Certification to AS9120 requires internal audits. These audits are a vital part of your Quality Management System (QMS), and help prepare your organization for an external audit. An internal auditor should be independent from the area she/he is auditing, and more than one auditor is often recommended for an organization. The authority of the audit team should be established and the auditors should be trained.
